This is a picture of Fort Tryon Park in Washinton Heights which offers magnificent scenic views of the Hudson River Palisades. In 1995, NYRP began clearing away years of garbage from this historic yet under-resourced park, and removed invasive vegetation and fallen trees. Today, children and families can enjoy one of New York City’s most beautiful parks, along with a great meal at our New Leaf Cafe.
The inscription from Ms. Midler reads:
Natural beauty is essential to the human spirit. Every person needs it to feel complete.
Thanks to you, thousands of New Yorkers who need it most can now enjoy the peace and tranquility of cleaner and more beautiful parks, community gardens, and green spaces.
Wishing you a warm and wonderful holiday season.
