Bette Midler – The Best Bette: If you’re a fan of her previous albums – all 23 of them – or you just can’t get enough of her acting skills in films such as Hocus Pocus, The First Wives Club or Outrageous Fortune, this 19- strong collection of hits will leave you satisfied.

It does, of course, include Wind Beneath My Wings from Beaches, which is just as emotionally-led as you remember it being. Other songs to listen out for include This Ole House, When A Man Loves A Woman, Tenderly and Friends.

It is, of course, cheesy in places, but when it comes to artists such as Midler you have to cast aside any music snobbery and just embrace it. It also comes complete with a great 1950s-style album cover. Rating 8/10
