WHAT do Britney Spears Christina Aguilera, Scarlett Johansson have in common, other than being blonde, beautiful and famous?

They all share the star sign Sagittarius, and this, it would seem, is the key to showbusiness success among the young.

Researchers analysed the zodiac signs of 100 celebrities from the past and present, looking for those who made their big breakthrough in their youth.

They discovered those born under Sagittarius are twice as likely to hit the big time than those born under any other sign. The study found nearly one in five child stars have been Sagittarians, born between November 22 and December 21.

As well as the aforementioned trio, other famous-when-young Sagittarians included 1970s heartthrob Donny Osmond, Railway Children actress Jenny Agutter and Jackson 5 member Jermaine Jackson. Sagittarians are popularly said to be driven, ambitious and broad-minded but at times argumentative and blunt, which may go some way to explaining their success in the cut and thrust world of showbusiness.

In joint second place were Virgos, Cancerians, Librans and Aquarians, with each group managing only nine per cent of child stars.

The research, carried out by TV channel Cartoon Network, discovered that Virgos boasted possibly the most famous child star line-up of all time – the late Michael Jackson and one of his closest friends, Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin, as well as Harry Potter stars Rupert Grint and Tom Felton, who plays Malfoy.

Taureans were the least represented in the child star zodiac league with just five members.

But their number does include yet another member of the Jackson clan – Janet – as well as Shirley Temple, who made her first hit movie at the age of eight in 1934 and was the highest grossing star in America during the 1930s depression.

Daily Mail astrologer Jonathan Cainer said he was not surprised that Sagittarians topped the list.

He said: ‘Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of hope, and Sagittarians possess ‘have-a-go’ personalities.

‘The qualities of that sign bestow a lack of inhibition and a natural, exuberant confidence.

‘Sagittarian children are particularly bouncy – they have a Tigger-like quality to their character.’

A GALAXY OF TALENT

WALT Disney, Steven Spielberg, Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix, Tina Turner, Bette Midler, Harpo Marx and Woody Allen were all born under the sign of the archer. Other successful Sagittarians named in the survey include Donny Osmond, Bruce Lee, Noel Coward, Ronnie O’Sullivan (three times snooker world champion who scored a 147 break aged 15), Patty Duke (US actress), Jermaine Jackson, Jenny Agutter, Vanessa Hudgens (of High School Musical fame), Anna Popplewell (English actress best known from The Chronicles of Narnia) JoJo (US singer and actress) and English actor Nick Hoult.
