New York – Bette Midler’s June 26 performance at Madison Square Garden featured a very special musical guest, Grammy and Oscar winner Darlene Love.
“I always dreamed the boy I love would come along,” Midler said, prior to introducing Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Darlene Love. “Ladies and gentlemen, Darlene Love,” she added.
They went on to sing their stunning collaboration, the upbeat and sassy “He’s Sure The Boy I Love,” which is found on Midler’s newest studio album It’s the Girls!, which was released on Warner Bros. Records. Midler and Love broke into the up-tempo classic hit “Da Doo Ron Ron” as their second duet vocal and closing number.
Midler complimented Darlene Love and went on to thank “New York” for a great evening of music at “The World’s Most Famous Arena.”
The Verdict
Overall, Bette Midler and Darlene Love were divine in their duet performances at Madison Square Garden, as part of Midler’s “Divine Intervention” tour stop. They earned two thumbs up for a job well done.

This summer keeps topping and outdoing itself as I sit here and watch the footage, yes thanks for posting this. (I am an American Sign Language interpreter for the Deaf and in my career I have been fortunate to be able to have interpreted Darlene Love in Chicago and Bette’s show as well!) Thanks for whoever took this footage.
