BETTE BE CAREFUL: There was one very disappointed waiter at the posh Bistro Garden Restaurant in Studio City, Calif., recently when he served Bette Midler. After profusely expressing his appreciation of the Divine Miss M and her movies, he received a brisk and barely audible “thank you.” Stay on your toes, Bette! It’s Hollywood and that waiter could very well become the next Tom Cruise – with casting approval of his costar.
