WILL THE REAL BETTE MIDLER . . .? What’s she like, the Divine Miss M? Well, she is a nice girl who tends to be almost square in spite of her avant-garde cult of fans. Bette usually falls in love too easily but with really nice guys. Her current one is a backstage union member she met during her Broadway concert. Bette is driving everybody crazy lately with her, “I don’t want to work” decision and the rumor’s around that she fought with Paul Simon during their record session together (not yet released). But Bette will be okay. She’s a terrific girl.
