Could There Be A Hocus Pocus 3?
Could There Be A Hocus Pocus 3?

Mister D: Could There Be A Hocus Pocus 3? Well, I’m the only messenger that likes to be shot. it seems. But I wouldn’t believe anybody who says there may be a Hocus Pocus 3. I will believe it when Miss M says it. All the people that encircle these celebrities have it down to an art in how to promote a movie. More people will clamor for a sequel this time because it’s bad or good. It will make boffo business at the box office or streaming alley (I don’t know what they call it, but I like it. Anyway, director Anne Fletcher is ‘open’ to another sequel. Well, so was Kenny Ortega. But it was neither Mr. Ortega’s fault nor Anne Fletcher’s fault in any of this.

The 56-year-old filmmaker is at the helm of the upcoming comedy horror movie – which is a follow-up to the original 1993 classic and set to launch on Disney+ on September 30 – and she won’t rule out a third film if Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker all want to return as the Sanderson sisters.

It took them 300 years for a sequel because that’s how old I feel. And you mean to tell me Disney did not pick up a queue that maybe it had grown so popular that a sequel should have been made at least 15 years ago? I’m giving them so much wiggle room here.

So don’t you little groupie people or forum people start saying there will be a sequel to the sequel because all you will be doing is convincing each other there will be, and Hocus Pocus 3 will be DOA. Show business or the Business of Show has all these little nooks and crannies filled with mythology and superstitions. And damn, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s not the reason we didn’t get Bette Midler and Eddie Murphy in ‘Driving Miss Daisy”

Could There Be A Hocus Pocus 3? I have left it WIDE open for any sequel

‘I have left it WIDE open for any sequel. Now it’s really up to them if they want to do it,’ she said while speaking to SFX magazine

‘I can’t say anything other than yes, it is left open. Will they do it? I don’t know, they haven’t even talked about it, that I can be honest with you,’ she added.

Producer Lynn Harris also refuses to rule out the possibility, noting that the fantasy themes will always be popular with fans.

Midler, Najimy could decide on the prospect of a third film, and Parker – who plays sisters Winne, Mary, and Sarah, respectively – with the trio also play a huge role in making the upcoming sequel a reality.

Harris recalled: ‘We approached the women and said, ‘Hey, guys, it’s time to get the band back together. They were all amenable and excited and had great notes on the script, which we took into account because each of them had a deep awareness of their character.

‘Even though it had been 27 years since we first started talking. They remembered and understood their identity as Winnie, Sarah, and Mary. They clicked right back into character, and it was magic.’

For Fletcher, it was a dream to see the three stars interacting on set, particularly regarding the chemistry between their characters.

She said: ‘It is truly as though they had not been out of costume for 27 years. They went right back into character.

‘When I say character, not just their own individual character, but how they relate to one another, which is very specific, in terms of the familial squabbles in birth order.
