Hey, Mister D!
I miss jumping in and posting a comment, so I thought I’d do that and say “hi”. First of all, thank you for all that you do! Bette’s always enriched by your posts, comments, and efforts on her behalf. Your website is always top of my list!!
And now, my random thoughts: I think “Cut Off” is going to get a theatrical release, especially now that they are doing reshoots. Ellison is about to take over Warner-CNN, etc., any moment now, and he’s promised to release 30 theatrical films a year for Warners. This film should be a no-brainer for him, as it is essentially complete and has a $49 million budget–not something to ignore. As for the reshoots, I’m not sure if it’s to tighten up the film in certain places or essentially try to overcome some of its initial negative feedback. Whatever, I’m glad it’s going forward, as opposed to sitting “in the can”; but I have a feeling we may not know the release date until 2027.
Also looking forward to “Steps” next month. This film may qualify as an animated Oscar contender; however, it will face stiff competition, including a similarly themed Disney film releasing the same week (“Hexed”). I’m hoping a second trailer might display more of Bette’s voiceover work, which I’m certain should be a lot of fun to hear. And now, Mister D, what are your thoughts on Hocus Pocus 3? That movie seems to be stuck in going nowhereland, although now is the time of year when people start asking this same question. There haven’t been any updates in months–not even a cast announcement. Oy! It’s time we find a way to put some pressure on Disney to get the ball rolling, and there’s no better time than around Halloween.
