Following one of her best movie hits ever (“The First Wives Club“), the entertainer returns to stage performing with this offering, taped at the gambling mecca’s MGM Grand.
The program features Midler‘s trademark brand of bawdy humor, as well as elaborately chorcgraphed versions of song standards, along with renditions of tunes such as “Friends” and “Wind Beneath My Wings,” and it shouldn’t come as a surprise to hear Midler croon “You Don’t Own Me,” which she rendered with fellow stars Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton in her most recent big-screen success.
The special marks the first full length Midler concert to be presented on TV in over a decade, but despite that passage of time, fans can rest assured that many long familiar elements of her live shows have been preserved.
