Bette Midler wants the Yankees to step up to the plate to help keep the Major Deegan Expressway clean.
The New York Daily News reports that Midler wants the team to pay to keep the expressway clean, saying it would an inexpensive way to get good branding for the team.
In 1995, the singer founded the New York Restoration Project, which aims to clean up the city.
She has also been paying for an extra day of trash collection along the Major Deegan since 2004.
The vice president of Adopt-A-Highway said it would cost less than $2,000 each month to help clean the Deegan.
A Yankees spokesman told the paper the team is looking into the matter.
