Q. How old is singer-composer Barry Manilow? Was he ever the house pianist in the famous Turkish baths where Bette Midler got her start? Was he ever Midler’s boyfriend?–Louise Stein, Detroit, Mich.
A. Barry Manilow, 36, played piano in the wellpublicized Continental Baths in Manhattan, a reportedly gay bathhouse in the Ansonia Hotel where Bette Midler entertained as a singer. Midler and Manilow were never an item.
