Bette Midler knows you’ve been waiting (not so very) patiently for a Hocus Pocus sequel. She knows you’ve petitioned for one. She knows it’s up to Disney now.

Or is it?

OK, so maybe Midler isn’t quite magical enough to make a sequel happen on her own (or even with the help of co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy). But, fans of the Sanderson sisters, don’t give up hope just yet.

After all, Bette doesn’t seem to be!

Midler is carrying on the legacy of the 1993 cult classic during her first tour in 10 years, Divine Intervention, as the diva — god love her — quenches Hocus Pocus fanatics who can’t get enough of her witchy ways.

In front of a backdrop resembling the film’s Salem, Mass., setting, Midler throws on the Annie-on-steroids hair and tosses in those gnarly rabbit chompers to resurrect her iconic character, Winifred Sanderson, for an experience that is literally spellbinding.

“I’m ready for my sequel, Mr. Disney!” she insists in this concert clip from May, when she performed “I Put a Spell on You” at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Fla.

During a Reddit interview with Midler from November 2014, the 69-year-old icon urged fans to collectively push for a sequel. “You have to go to send in your cards to the Walt Disney company. The ball’s in their court. Inundate the Disney company, because I have canvassed the girls and they are willing to do it, but we have no say in it, so if you want a Hocus Pocus 2, ask the Walt Disney company.”

Though Bette’s tour wraps July 19, the focus will be on Hocus Pocus through the fall at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Yes, it’s true: A live-action stage show featuring the Sanderson sisters, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, runs Sept. 15 to Nov. 1.

Winifred resurrection. Disney stage show. What’s next? That long-awaited sequel? These all must be signs sent from the sistahs themselves, right?
