Bette Midler Announces She’s Joining the Hocus Pocus Reunion Special
October 18, 2018
Something wicked this way comes — and we couldn’t be more excited!
Almost a month after Freeform first announced its Hocus Pocus 25th anniversary special, original star Bette Midler finally confirmed that she’d be joining in on the fun.
“Wait, wait a minute,” Midler, 72, said in a video posted on Freeform’s YouTube page, while assuming the voice of her Hocus Pocus character Winifred Sanderson.
“What’s a Sanderson sister celebration without Winifred?” she asked with a smile.
The video confirmed that she would be joining fellow stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy and Thora Birch in the special, which will air Oct. 20 as part of Freeform’s 31 of Nights of Halloween lineup.

Hocus Pocus: 61 Things I Can’t Help But Point Out
October 13, 2018, at 3:12 p.m.
1. Why does the movie start with Superman flying over a lake?
2. Man, I hope this guy finds Emily.
3. This movie isn’t scary, right? I mean, it’s Disney so….then again, Disney movies can be scary. The Hunchback of Notre Dame was TERRIFYING. Ugh, this better not be scary.
4. Who just lets their kids sprint through the woods?
5. And what kind of dumb kid would follow a stranger into a house in said woods?
6. TBH, this house looks like it’d be great to throw a frat party in.
7. Haha, me every day:
8. What’s with people in the 1600s and ill-fitting white garments?

Hocus Pocus – Bette Midler – BOOOOOOOK!!!!!! – 1993
In July 2014, it was announced that Disney was developing a supernatural-themed film about witches and that Tina Fey was on board as a producer and star. However, Deadline debunked rumors that the film was a sequel to Hocus Pocus. In November 2014, Bette Midler said in an interview that she was ready and willing to return for a sequel. She also said her co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy were interested in reprising the roles of the Sanderson sisters as well but stressed that Disney had yet to greenlight any sequel. In November 2015, Midler stated in a Facebook Q&A that “after all these years and all the fan demand, I do believe I can stand and firmly say an unequivocal no” in response to a question about a sequel.

25 Things You Didn’t Know About “Hocus Pocus” September 21, 2018
Those who know me well, know that the film “Hocus Pocus” is one of my favorite Disney movies, and it’s become a yearly tradition to watch it a few times (at least) each and every Halloween season. This fantastic film is celebrating 25 years this year as well! It’s hard to believe it’s been out that long! I came across this article about Hocus Pocus, on hollywood.com, regarding fun facts that most fans didn’t know about the movie. I know I didn’t know, so the article was a fun read. That being said, I thought I’d share the info with our readers as I know we have a lot of fans of the Sanderson Sisters! So here we go, 25 things you didn’t know about Hocus Pocus~

We Reveal 7 Secrets from Cult Favorite Hocus Pocus for its 25th Anniversary
SEPTEMBER 10, 2018
2 MINUTE READ
Ready for a serious flashback? Hocus Pocus is 25 years old.
That means it’s been a quarter century since the coven of evil witches played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy were accidentally set free to wreak havoc on Salem, Mass. And it’s been 25 years since a cult favorite was born.
For many of us, October means grabbing a pumpkin spice latte, loading up on candy corn, hitting the DVR and lining up every single showing of Hocus Pocus so we can just keep watching over and over and over again. It’s become Halloween tradition in many a household thanks to Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween. But just maybe there’s a better way?
