The National Corporate Theatre Fund held its annual Chairman’s Awards gala at 6:30pm on Monday, April 19 at the St. Regis Hotel.
Actress Lily Tomlin hosted the event, which honored Tony Award-winning actor Nathan Lane, Tony Award-winning set designer Eugene Lee, and Wells Fargo.
Bette Midler — accompanied by Marc Shaiman — gave a surprise performance in honor of Lane. Entertainment was also provided by the cast of the new play Johnny Baseball, which is being produced by the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which is one of NCTF’s member theaters.
Elaine Stritch, one of the evening’s co-chairs, and actress Marian Seldes were among the luminaries who attended the event.

Lily Tomlin & Leslie Jordan were on “The View” yesterday and Leslie mentioned having to pick Lily up at the St. Regis because of some event. This was clearly it.
