Bette Midler is returning with a new album and live tour.
And on Wednesday the 68-year-old singer-songwriter-actress visited The Tonight Show to discuss her latest projects with the show’s host Jimmy Fallon.
Wearing a deep emerald green bodycon dress, silver earrings and black high heels, the Divine Miss M – her informal stage name – looked quite divine during the late-night television programme.
The Hocus Pocus actress appeared to be wearing a voluminous blonde wig for the interview and live performance, in which she sang R&B group TLC’s 1995 hit Waterfalls.
She kept her makeup relatively natural, aside from false eyelashes, while flaunting her fabulous and nearly wrinkle-free complexion.
The day before the platinum blonde star dropped her latest album, It’s The Girls, her first release since 2006.
Her newest record includes.a collection of song covers made famous by various all-female recording artists from the 1930s up to the 1990s.
Tracks incude You Can’t Hurry Love by The Supremes and Mr. Sandman by The Chordettes.
With the release of her new album also came news that she will be going on tour for the first time in over a decade.
Her 22-date tour kicks off May 8 in Hollywood, Florida and wraps up June 25 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
The Grammy and Golden Globe winner will perform live in various North American cities including New Orleans, Denver, Phoenix, Boston, Chicago, Seattle and Detroit, amongst others.
Meanwhile, last week Midler herself hosted a Halloween costume party for around 1,000 guests at the Waldorf Astoria, one of New York’s ritziest hotels.
The performer, who organises the annual fund-raiser for the New York Restoration Project she set up, looked ready to cast a spell over Friday evening’s proceedings, dressed as a very glitzy witch from Wicked.
Celebrities at the star-studded ball included Debra Messing, Martha Stewart, Billy Crystal, Katie Couric, former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Chevy Chase, John Lithgow and fashion designer Michael Kors.
Seems like we wont see Delores Delago on this tour. 🙁 I hope Bette decides to do it…even just for a song or 2. She may surprise us.
