Bette Midler has a long and star-studded career, spanning decades. She started her sojourn in the theater off-Broadway until her first Broadway appearance in 1967s Fiddler on The Roof. Since then, she has made countless appearances on stage and in film.

In April 2017, she took on the title role in the Broadway revival of Hello Betty. Now, after almost two years gracing the stage, she is set to take a final bow from the production. Her exit is not for lack of enthusiasm for the show. Rather, she cites her age as a major factor informing her decision. Read More

We’ve been hearing gossip that following her triumphant Broadway run as Dolly Levi in Jerry Herman’s Hello Dolly!, Bette Midler may star in the show at the London Palladium in 2019.

Put on your Sunday clothes because rumour has it that Bette Midler will be starring in the London transfer of Jerry Herman’s Hello Dolly! in 2019.

The show is rumoured to be all set to play the London Palladium for a limited season.

The show which has been playing for over a year on Broadway garnered 4 2017 Tony Awards including Best Actress and Best Revival Of A Musical. Read More

Back where she belongs! The incomparable Bette Midler returns to her Tony Award-winning role of Dolly Gallagher Levi in the acclaimed revival of Hello, Dolly! at the Shubert Theatre on July 17. She will be joined by her co-star and original cast member David Hyde Pierce, who reprises his Tony-nominated performance as Horace Vandergelder, for the final weeks of the Broadway run, culminating on August 25. My catch phrase for that is we’re gonna “Make America Happy Again!” I don’t know if you’ve seen the current Broadway production, but it’s just so joyous. I saw it last winter with Bette Midler, and the whole place was standing up at the end. Tears were just streaming down my face, everybody I’ve talked to had the same similar experience. Bette Midler couldn’t stay away from the “lights of 14th street.”

The Tony Award winner will return to the title role she originated in the current revival of Hello, Dolly! Her former co-star, David Hyde Pierce, who played Horace Vandergelder, will join her in the limited six-week engagement from July 17 to August 25, when the show will close.

“I am delighted to return to the scene of one of the greatest experiences of my life,” Midler said in a statement of her triumphant encore performance. Read More

Since coming to theatrical prominence in the mid-’70s and attaining even shinier status the following decade (thanks largely to her work in the original production of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With George), Bernadette Peters has occupied an unusual dual position. She’s both a very particular type — a bona fide Broadway star, one of the few remaining — and in her warmth, humor, and vulnerability, utterly unique as a performer. “I understand that other people might see something special in what I do,” says Peters, dressed all in black, her famous red curls flowing over shoulder, and speaking (graciously, cautiously) from a meeting room in her publicist’s office in midtown Manhattan, “but I don’t think I’m the one who can say what that is.” Read More
