Hey thanks for the birthday wishes from the posts below. I’ve read the comments. Thank you to those who’ve sent emails….and Andy thank you from the bottom of my heart for your annual birthday call and song…. 🙂
Today is my real birthday, but I celebrated it Saturday and had such a blast. Of course, I shaved off some years this time and now I’m 45 again with a whole new lease on life. Of course, when I reach 50 again I won’t enjoy the midlife crisis that comes with it…LOL
I am so lucky I received mucho money this year…..SCORE!!!!! I booked my flight and hotel for Bette’s Indiana show. I will get a ticket. I am so confident in the way Ticket Master works…I know there will be tix reentered into the system. I’ve seen it time and time again. If I can’t get in, I’ll interview some Betteheads coming out to get the lowdown. Should be an experience.
I was in such a good mood the night of my party I put on a little show opening with Nancy Sinatra’s “I Gotta Get Out Of This Town” (yes I was tipsy during my dance routine, but Justin Timberlake can eat his heart out!…yeah right! LOL). The I sat at the piano for the rest of the show and sang and talked…little stories leading into the songs (learned from the best – Bette and Bruce). I sang “Guilty,” my own “The Chicken Song,” “Broken Bicycles,” Mick Jagger’s “Evening Gown,” Elton’s “Your Song,” Robbie William’s “Angels,” The Stone’s “Honky Tonk Women,” and a song called “Louise.” I know ya’ll are thrilled to know all this.
I dressed like something like a cross between Cabaret and Clockwork Orange….but all black…you know the slimming effect. Anywho…I had a blast. I then showed my guests a few clips of Bette (always to be expected)…..then music and more drinks. Great night.
Now it’s back to dieting….
So, thanks everybody, and here’s to another great year…for you, for me, for BLB, and especially our queen….The Divine Miss M, Bette Midler.
Love, Mister D
PS: Those of you writing saying the canceled show on Oct 7 better be an error, let me assure you it’s not. Call Ticketmaster and get your refund and if you need to cancel your trip, do so. It’s listed on the TM site that it is indeed canceled. I hate being the bearer of bad news, but be glad you were warned.
