KBK Wealth Management, an independent financial planning and investment firm located in Midtown Manhattan, has partnered with New York Restoration Project to help reclaim and restore New York City’s parks, community gardens and open spaces.

Since the organization’s founding by Bette Midler in 1995, New York Restoration Project has achieved dramatic results by investing in greening underserved communities throughout New York City’s five boroughs. “After seeing the positive impact NYRP was having throughout the city, we wanted to find a way to get involved. After speaking to the team at NYRP, we thought we could make a bigger impact by creating a firm initiative,” stated Michael Kessler, partner at KBK Wealth Management.

KBK Wealth Management approached NYRP about a corporate partnership and launched their “Client Referral Program” on December 1st 2012. In addition to a monetary contribution to New York Restoration Project, KBK Wealth Management has agreed to plant a tree on behalf of any person that refers a client to KBK Wealth. “The gift of a tree is much more personal than a traditional thank you card or gift basket. Aside from the tree being planted in their name, every person that refers a client to us will receive a personalized certificate and the knowledge that they will forever have a bit of their legacy flourishing in New York City.”

On April 16th 2013, the advisors and employees of KBK Wealth Management spent the day volunteering in Highbridge Park in Northern Manhattan. “We’re happy to work with KBK Wealth Management on this mutually beneficial partnership to support the work we do in the city,” said Amy Freitag, Executive Director of NYRP.

The partnership with NYRP is just one of many community initiatives that KBK Wealth has planned for 2013. “Charity and community involvement have always been at the core of our firms values. Throughout 2013, we will be continuing to grow and foster our non-profit relationships,” stated Michael Kessler.
