“So far, only two of the four top-nominated shows” – Kinky Boots and Pippin have seen an uptick in ticket sales,” with Matilda’s receipts actually dipping slightly. (On the other hand, Bette Midler‘s one-woman show I’ll Eat You Last, snubbed by Tony, saw a 17% increase in income.) Los Angeles Times 05/07/13

  1. Very happy for Bette’s Broadway success….there were a lot of talented actors in this year’s pool of Tony snubs….in a way, I’m glad that Bette’s grabbing most of the headlines in the “overlooked” department….everyone knows she was the most deserving, and her omission sticks out like a sore thumb.

Perhaps it will catapult her to win other awards. Broadway World is holding their own audience “vote”, and ‘I’ll Eat You Last’ has at least a half-dozen nominations, including Bette. I’ve already voted. The link is here: http://broadwayworld.com/vote.cfm
