Recruiters who have habitually put candidates phoning in on hold to Bette Midler’s Wind Beneath My Wings and Toploader’s Dancing In The Moonlight may want to think again.
Research conducted by audio branding specialist PHMG, which audited 601 firms in the recruitment sector, found the vast majority risk losing custom by subjecting customers to generic music and audio while on hold.
Typically, waiting on hold is seen as a major bugbear for callers, but 47% of recruiters surveyed still leave customers listening to nothing but generic music.
