All white for summer! Amy Poehler glams up in lacy frock while Cynthia Nixon sports pretty floral number for New York picnic

With their pretty dresses and stylish accessories, Cynthia Nixon and Amy Poehler looked dressed ready for summer as they stepped out at a charity event on Thursday.
The actresses both wore very different white outfits for the New York City Restoration Project’s 13th Annual Spring Picnic.
Amy, 42, looked stunning in a lacy white dress teamed with grey blazer and matching strappy sandals with her blonde hair worn in gentle waves around her face.
She showed off bright red nails and arrived with a dark grey clutch while Cynthia, 48, sported a fifties style dress decorated with black and blue flowers and beige wedge heels.
The actresses happily posed with the charity’s founder Bette Midler, who looked striking in a black top adorned with gold beading, white trousers and black peep toe wedges.
The NYRP was founded by Bette and aims to rescue parks and scores of community gardens in neighbourhoods throughout the city’s five boroughs.
The event took place at the General Grant National Memorial Park in Manhattan.
Amy and Cynthia are acting as co-chairs for this year’s picnic which also features stand up comic Judy Gold as ‘mistress of ceremonies.’
‘Three blondes making a difference at @NYRP Spring Picnic!’ Bette wrote on her Twitter page alongside a photograph of the trio.
And it seems their efforts garnered success, with the Beaches star later tweeting: ‘We raised over one million dollars for New York City Parks and Gardens at our event tonight at @Grant’sTomb!! Have you been? It’s to die!!’
As well as her charitable efforts, Bette will return to acting – taking on the role of Mae West in a new HBO biopic.
According to Deadline, the biopic will be based on West’s autobiography Goodness Had Nothing To Do With It, and chronicle the late star’s rise to stardom and her career controversies.
Bette last year won critical acclaim for her role in one-man Broadway show I’ll Eat You Last where she played super agent Sue Mengers.
