Can Disturbed Spoil The Pop Party On This Week’s ARIA Albums Chart?

After ex-One Direction member Zayn predictably took out top spot on last week’s ARIA Albums Chart, this week looks to have similar circumstances with Danish outfit Lukas Graham set to land in the top three, however there may be one particular dark horse in the pack to spoil the party in US heavy metal favourites, Disturbed.
Though Zayn’s debut album and Lukas Graham’s new self-titled offering is likely to battle for top honours, Disturbed’s 2015-released comeback offering Immortalized is primed to blast right back into the top ten after it peaked at #1 back in August last year.
The news isn’t entirely surprising though, since local fans were given a reason to celebrate when the Chicago-founded band announced last week they will finally be heading to Australia for a tour in 2016, after their headline set at Soundwave was nixed following the festival’s demise.
Alternatively, if Lukas Graham’s album was to debut at #1 it would no doubt be an impressive feat, given that the group’s hit song 7 Years already shares the record for the longest running number one by a Danish artist on the ARIA chart with Aqua’s Doctor Jones.
Rounding out the album debuts this week include The Last Shadow Puppets with Everything You’ve Come To Expect, Babymetal‘s Metal Resistance, Pet Shop Boys‘ Super, In Stereo’s She’s Rock N Roll, Weezer’s The White Album and Bette Midler with A Gift Of Love.
Over on the Singles Chart Lukas Graham could potentially snatch the record from Aqua if 7 Years is to hold on to top spot, while music fans can also expect to hear new songs from New Zealand act Broods with Free and Canberra outfit Safia’s Make Them Wheels Roll.
