I’ve always loved watching film clips of Bette performing “Live” or in the recording studio. She always looks comfortable and at home in these surroundings and this is where I always see the true DIVA shine!
Don’t get me wrong, I love Bette’s other film clips, but these rare kind just goes to show that Bette herself is the special effect and doesn’t need to have a line of dancers, political logos flashing in the background to get the message across, he facial expressions and affection does that perfectly for her, and solidifies my case that Bette Midler is a true Superstar in every sense of the word.

Bette recorded it first and they released it as a single…which tanked. Later on, Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville re-recorded it as Don’t Know Much and had a megahit with it….
