While I don’t know when tickets go on sale for Bette’s one-woman show, I’ll Eat You Last: A Chat With Sue Mengers , I was just informed that previews start April 4th, 2013

Previews start. Which means it won’t open for regular viewing till later in the summer depending on what is said and needs to be worked on from the viewing.
Hummmm….wonder how hard it would be to get into a preview.
I’m just repeating what I was told. I guess they’ll work out the kinks between April 4th and April 24th. And I guess that means no reviews in between that time. I’m assuming you can buy tickets for the previews….just knowing that it’s still a work in progress. It’s just like when I went to a preview of The Showgirl before it opened…the only difference was that was shown only to employees at Caesar’s….
Then why does it say preview?! Lol. Usual the preview is what they do before they officially open.
I am so confused, but, have my credit card ready to buy as soon as I can for whatever date!
I like previews. I’ve been to a few. It’s smaller and the people are there because they want to be there, not forced to be there.
There just all around better.
Of course it will preview on April 4th and open on April 24th at some Shubert Theater, rest assured it shall happen. No reviews until opening night is standard practice.
My favorite line from the author of the play, John Logan, about all this is the following:
“Ms. Midler “was always in my mind†as he wrote the play, Mr. Logan said: “She’s a proper stage animal. In a one-person show in particular, you need someone who can hold an audience, who connects with an audience in a really deeply visceral way, and that’s Bette through and through.â€
I think Mr. Logan nailed it, what an incredible compliment to Bette, and so true. Can’t wait to see it, don’t know how or when, but I will see this play.
Ahhh! Excellent! I will be in the US at the beginning of April and now I can swing through New York and catch a preview before opening night! HOORAY! Keep up posted on when tickets go on sale, because I MUST GET ONE!!!
I’m really hoping to come across from the Uk to see this …. I wonder how long the run will be for, is that like asking how long is a piece of string (and dependent on reviews, demand etc)?
That’s a good question….i’m sure demand has something to do with it…and it could be a limited engagement like when she did Clams for 3 months….I’ll see if i can find anything out….

Who’s ever forced to be at something?
I’m told they do not even have a theater secured yet.
No…it just hasn’t been announced yet.
I WILL see this…I cannot wait.
