The song came from the movie “The World Is Full Of Married Men” starring Tony Franciosa and Carroll Baker. The first release of the song was by Mick Jackson, followed by Bonnie Tyler, and then Bette Midler, all within a few months. “Married Men” was written by Dominic Bugatti, Frank Musker.

  1. Bette sang that song live, along with Tom Waits’ “Martha” on the final season SNL show in May of 1979. The last show with cast members John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. That was, of course, Buck Henry, who recently passed away, introducing Bette.
