Mister D: Mister Vilanch has been so kind in giving me information that I really, really want to thank him for even bothering with my nonsense. He’s truly a gentleman and I can’t say enough about him. I know he’s a fan of Bootleg Betty cause he asked to be put on the mailing list…OR maybe he was just being too, too kind, as we Betteheads like to say…anyway, here’s a quote:
“…the tour plug has been pulled, probably getting seriously underway in august for dates beginning in october. it was just too soon to get the kind of extravaganza we had in mind together for a february debut. it probably takes ringling brothers less time to launch a circus, but then they’ve got all those animals just lying around the house. bette only has puddles.”
He also said that Miss M is without a record deal at the moment, but probably not for long…give or take a few months. She does have alot of new material that she wants to record. Also, it looks as if she is lining up the same arenas that were supposed to have been used originally. Nashville is not one of them…so I’m visiting some of you guys whether you like it or not!!!:-) Nothing was said of “Hello Dolly”. I told him all of us were so disappointed and this is all he could give me…which is really enough right now. It sounds as if she really wants to get back to work.
Being the little gnat that I am, I wrote back and told him some songs that I thought the majority of Betteheads think she should sing….”Mary”, “Martha”. and “It Should’ve Been Me”….since those seem to be the most requested bootlegs. Whether I’ll hear from him again after that, who Knows?…LOL
