Mister D: I remember Bette was invited to perform at a tribute to Martin Luther King on January 20th, 1986 (I believe that’s the date)…Bill Cosby introduced her to thunderous applause and you can tell she was so honored to be there. I’m pretty sure you can get that performance from Mama Rose’s Midlerobila project. I posted the song up not long ago and maybe I will agian the next go around.
This was right before Bette made her big comeback in the movies….you could tell she felt a little vulnerable and insecure….but she was so cute and handled it so well….the only complaint I had was that the mic-ing was done poorly…she had a gospel choir behind her that barely could be heard. Still it was a very memorable moment…
Love, Mister D
