Humorist Bruce Vilanch, best known for penning the Academy Awards shows and for his ”Hollywood Squares” gig, soon will be shaving his signature full beard to prep for the ”Hairspray” role many think will win Harvey Fierstein a Tony next month. Vilanch will be beardless and on the road for a year (including Chicago in December) playing the mother, Edna Turnblad, in the national tour of ”Hairspray.”
