PRISCILLA’s Tony Sheldon to Receive Sardi’s Portrait Tomorrow

PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT’s Tony Award nominated star and original Australian leading man Tony Sheldon will unveil his portrait Sardi’s Restaurant tomorrow, Wednesday, May 2.
Sheldon will also sit down with another New York institution, WOR radio host Joan Hamburg, during her “Live from Sardi’s” broadcast at approximately 12:30pm to discuss his hit year on Broadway with the Tony Award winning musical and being honored with a coveted portrait.

Tony Sheldon created the role of “Bernadette” in the first workshop of PRISCILLA seven years ago, and has starred in over 1,600 performances of the musical around the world in Australia, New Zealand, London, Toronto, and made his Broadway debut in the role last season.
He was nominated for every major award he was eligible for including 2011 Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Drama League awards and the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical and was also awarded the Theatre World Award for Outstanding Broadway debut.
