April 30, 2020
Mister D: Hey BetteHeads, I hope you’ll celebrate with me some great news regarding my brother, Woody Bradshaw. He was recently signed with MC1 Nashville Sony Orchard. They’ve just released his new single, “Why’d You Even Try” to Country and Christian Radio. The closest marker as to the type of song it is would be Kris Kristofferson’s “Why Me Lord?” which was a big hit on Pop and Country Charts in the ’70s with his then-wife, Rita Coolidge, who’s a big Bette Midler fan as well! (you knew I’d work in Miss M somehow!) And she won some Grammys, too.
Here’s my brother’s press release: MC1 Nashville/ Sony Orchard…
“MC1 Nashville would like to welcome “Woody Bradshaw”. We are very blessed and honored to work with this seasoned entertainer. His self penned new single, “Why You’d Even Try” is releasing to radio today, making its debut just in time for Dove Award submissions. You will be hearing lots more from Woody as we move into the summer. A new Country single is planned for the near future. Get your copy of this inspirational single NOW…on Spotify, Amazon Music, iTunes, Google Play, and many other digital platforms! Please Share This Post. Thank you so much for all your support.”
Mister D: This was the second song my brother ever wrote, but he always set it aside. Well, I liked it and came up with my own arrangement for it, which was an odd mixture of Midler and Elton John and I gave it a more rock arrangement on the bridge. So I did play in one version of my brother’s band (and yes, I played the famous Bluebird)
Anyway, on some occasions, my brother would let me close out the set with “Why’d You Even Try” because it would get such a good reaction from the crowds, so I’m finally happy he picked one of my all-time favorites of his and the label wants to put it out as the first single and submit it for the Dove Song/Record of the Year. Of course, this seals my fabulous reputation for knowing how to pick ‘em!
Congratulations Bro, you did it!
Wishing your brother much success! He’s quite a talent and you have every reason to be proud.
Yes, you know how to pick them (great song–just heard it on YouTube). Looking forward to great things from Woody. You and your brother are blessed to have such great genes.
Thank you !
