I’ve put a couple of new videos in BMTV…hope to be adding more. May have to come up with a better format though.
A few new songs have been added into the Bette Digital Jukebox which includes “He Needs Me,” the full dance mix of “Shining Star,” (thanks Eze for those two) and one of my faves, “Cradle Days.”
Tons of new songs in the Bette IPod Faves section. BetteHead Katrin sent in a couple of cover songs that are quite interesting. Here’s the backstory for one that some of you might enjoy….from Katrin:
One is “Sonderzug nach Pankow” from Udo Lindenberg. It’s the German version of Chattanooga Choo Choo, which was recorded somewhen in the 70s and became a huge hit. The song is still very popular here. Maybe you remember that Germany and Berlin have been seperated into East and West til 1990. Pankow is a part of East Berlin. The song is about riding a train from West to East (which was impossible). So the song was a political statement back in the 70s.
The other Katrin sent in was a version of “Miss Otis Regrets” by the legendary Marlene Dietrich. This is quite fabulous to hear!
I’d like to point out another song, “Feel Like Breaking Up Somebody’s Home,” by The Janine Wilson Band. Janine and I have been writing back and forth for a few years. She was a BetteHead since she was a young girl…I don’t know if she’d want to be called that or not now, but who knows…I’ll let her tell me…
Anyway, she has about 3 CD’s out and has garnered rave reviews from major papers and outlets, major nominations for her CD’s and live performances in such places as D.C. and Seattle (I believe). But just listen to her version of this song and see what a gifted and powerful vocalist she is….
Here’s a link to her site where you can read all about her, her reviews, her nominations and awards, and how to buy her CD’s:
Hope ya’ll enjoy!
Love, Mister D
