Nicole Kidman to Receive 18th American Cinematheque Award

Mister D: I mention this because Bette received this award in 1987 and currently she and Nicole are filming “The Stepforf Wives”

The American Cinematheque has tapped Nicole Kidman as its 18th American Cinematheque Award recipient.

The actress will be feted Nov. 14 at the Cinematheque’s annual benefit gala at the BevHilton; tribute will air Dec. 1 on AMC.

Since 1986 the Cinematheque board of directors selection committee has annually singled out an “extraordinary artist in the entertainment industry, who is fully engaged in his or her work and is committed to making a significant contribution to the art of the motion picture.” Last year’s honoree was Denzel Washington.

Event, formerly known as the Moving Picture Ball, is expected to draw 1,200 industryites. Benefit provides funds for the nonprofit film org’s programs throughout the year and for operation of the Egyptian Theater on Hollywood Boulevard and the redecorated Aero on Montana Avenue.
