Jude Johnstone’s songs have been covered by some of the biggest names in the music industry including Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash, Stevie Nicks, Trisha Yearwood and Bette Midler. Her songs have also been featured in television shows Nurse Jackie, Army Wives and Lie to Me. Jude is not only a respected and accomplished songwriter but a recording artist with four critically acclaimed CDs released over the past 8 years on the solo artist label BoJak Records. However, somehow she remains a relatively unknown artist to the general public, but that is about to change with the release of her fifth CD “Quiet Girl.”

“Quiet Girl,” returns Jude to the Americana flavor of her first two CDs “Coming of Age,” and “On a Good Day.” Owing to her immense reputation the project attracted contributions from a premier list of guest artists including Emmylou Harris (Quiet Girl), John David Souther (On That Train), Susan & David Cowsill (Cry for New Orleans), Rodney Crowell (Cry for New Orleans), Maxayn Lewis (Angel at Your Door), Jimmy LaFave (I Don’t Wanna Go Home), David Mansfield (Quiet Girl, On That Train) and Clarence Clemons (Don’t Wake Me Up).

“Quiet Girl” lives up to the soulful songwriting you might expect from someone with Jude’s track record. Her intimate, passionate vocal style is delivered with thoughtful and heartfelt lyrics throughout this impressive collection. The catchy title track features background vocals by Emmylou Harris, the haunting “The Smell of Summer,” and the poignant “On That Train,” are some of Johnstone’s most compelling songs. “Cry For New Orleans” features vocals by Susan and John Cowsill, whose brother died in New Orleans during the tragedy of Katrina. And the person who gave Jude her first break, Clarence Clemons, plays sax on “Don’t Wake Me Up.” Don’t miss this exceptional artist. Listen to “Quiet Girl “and hear what attracts revered Hall of Fame artists to Johnstone’s music.
