For the Boys,” wasn’t for Martha Raye, according to a Los Angeles judge who dismissed the actress’s $5 million lawsuit against Bette Midler.

Raye said Midler was quite interested when she was offered a $1 million script based on her life several years ago. No contract was signed, but Raye said the singer, 20th Century Fox and others based the 1991 movie on her life.

Raye, now 77 and ailing, entertained troops in World War II, Korea and Vietnam and brought her flamboyant, loud-mouthed style to numerous films and TV shows. Her attorney, Richard Ferko, said he would probably appeal.

Midler said she was pleased to be done with the lawsuit but “extremely angry at the tremendous waste of time and the taxpayers’ money.”
