In her debut album with Warner Brothers Music Midler gives fans something new to listen to.
She’s all over the place on the 12 tracks – her trademark ballads, rhythm and blues, and even songs that evoke memories of her as The Divine Miss M in the 1970’s with I’m Beautiful.
Nobody can sing a ballad like Midler who shines on My One True Friend, the single from the movie, One True Thing. It comes 11th on the album but is worth the wait for those who haven’t tired of hearing it on the radio.
One of the most touching songs is Lullaby In Blue, a mother’s wistful look back on the child she gave up for adoption.
She’ll make you laugh. She’ll make you cry. She’ll make you want to listen to this album again and again.
