The Natural Resources Defense Council’s (NRDC) Night of Comedy event, offers welcome comic relief in support of the organization’s work to protect public health and the environment.
NRDC is one of the nation’s oldest and most effective environmental organizations. In recent years, it has been at the forefront of the green resistance to the Trump administration—taking them to court nearly once a week since President Trump took office. And NRDC is winning: it has earned victories in more than 80 percent of the cases that have received a decision to date. From fighting to get a pesticide linked to learning disabilities in children off our fruits and vegetables, to protecting the endangered rusty-patched bumblebee, and thwarting efforts to fast-track the Keystone XL pipeline—NRDC is sending a message loud and clear that the President is not above the law.
Presented in partnership with Discovery, Inc., the event was hosted by Seth Meyers on April 30 at the New-York Historical Society. The lineup includes comedy legends and environmental advocates Mike Birbiglia, Tiffany Haddish, Hasan Minhaj, John Mulaney, John Oliver, and Sarah Silverman.
