Rydell To Direct Midler In Movie

LOS ANGELES API – Mark Rydell will direct the motion picture debut of singer Bette Midler in “The Rose.” which goes into production in March.
Rydell previously directed “Cinderella Liberty,” “The Reivers,” “The Cowboys” and “The Fox.” Bo G o l d m a n wrote the s c r e e n p l a y for “The Rose,” a musical love story set in the 1960s.
Miss Midler will play a singing star.
