THERE WAS SONGWRITER Carole Bayer Sager with hubby Bob Daly escorting Bette Midler and Carole King to “The Boy From Oz.” Carole had a 10-year collaboration and friendship with the late Peter Allen. They wrote dozens of songs together, 10 of which are in the Broadway musical biography starring Hugh Jackman.

“I hadn’t seen the show since opening night,” said the L.A.-based Carole. “It amazes me how Hugh has become totally comfortable inhabiting Peter’s persona. He interacts with the audience the way Peter did, doing a brilliant job.”

Carole will be a presenter at the June 6 Tony awards, where “Oz” has received five nominations. She plans to see the show again in September before it ends its run with Hugh on board.
