NEW YORK, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ — New York Restoration Project (NYRP) carries out Founder Bette Midler’s dream of a cleaner, more beautiful New York. In celebrating its 10th Anniversary and Bette Midler’s 60th birthday year, NYRP is conducting an online auction which will be hosted at http://www.charitybuzz.com and will coincide with its star-studded Hulaween gala in New York City on October 31, 2005. At the gala, Sting and Trudie Styler will be honored for their environmental work, Sir Elton John will perform, and Martin Short will serve as auctioneer for five sensational “live” celebrity auction lots.

The auction opens for bidding on October 18 and concludes November 8.

Here are a few highlights:

  • Spend time with Martha Stewart touring her private gardens, see Robert DeNiro direct his latest movie, The Good Shepherd, listen to Faith Hill record a Holiday album in her studio, go backstage at a Dave Matthews Band concert, play bocce ball with the legendary Glenn Close, or get the latest gossip from Liz Smith over lunch.
  • The Hulaween auction also includes luxury trips to Paris, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and The Bahamas as well as one-of-a-kind celebrity memorabilia from Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Goldie Hawn, Billy Joel, Diane Keaton, Jerry Seinfeld, Charlize Theron, Eartha Kitt, Arnold Palmer and dozens more of Bette’s friends. Fashion icons Donna Karan and Norma Kamali, publisher Jann Wenner and publicist to the stars Cindi Berger are all contributing internships, an incredible opportunity to get inside views of their companies.
  • Toyota is donating a 2006 Prius which will be driven to the winner’s driveway by none other than Sarah Jessica Parker and Bette Midler!
  • Even Dr. Ruth will meet you for lunch in NYC.
  • Over the past ten years, NYRP has reclaimed over 400 acres of neglected and abandoned parks and open spaces in New York City and created Swindler Cove, a new park in upper Manhattan. Support NYRP’s next ten years of success by registering now at http://www.charitybuzz.com.
