“The Women” After Party

Bette Midler and Mick Jagger (one of the producers for the movie) attend the after party for the Cinema Society Screening of “The Women” at Lowe’s 19th Street on September 11, 2008 in New York City.

Thursday night’s Cinema Society screening of The Women, the new comedy with a dream-team cast of Hollywood actresses, was a celebration of the fairer sex and the designer clothes that make it fairer. Meg Ryan, whose character in the film struggles to launch her first collection, gave a shout-out to collaborator Narciso Rodriguez. “We didn’t have any money to make this movie,” she said. “He was cool. He sent the models, he sent the clothes.” True to its name, the film (a remake of the 1939 classic) doesn’t feature a single male actor. Cast member Bette Midler, for one, wasn’t bothered. “We didn’t even miss the guys. We didn’t miss anybody!” she trilled. But the Divine Miss M couldn’t resist snapping a few photos of herself with her old pal Mick Jagger (one of the film’s producers) the moment he strolled into the room. Later, she pulled out her camera to show them off. “There he is!” she sang. “There’s my boy!”

  1. I was just thinking that…I can only imagine that crazy scrapbooks Bette might have. And I swear, the newest mother/daughter photo at the screening is the best of all mother/daughter celeb photos!

  2. “I’ll nevah beee you’re beast of burden…” Lol That’s what that pic reminds me of. And how cute do Bette and Sophie look? OMG I wish me and my mom looked that good on camera Lol.

  3. Hey Mr D & All!

I love seeing pictures of Bette having a great time. Sophie looks stunning as always and Bette looks beautiful in green.

I’d love to see the pictures in Bette’s photo albums, can you imagine what they would be like? A fucking hoot that’s what I think!

Who knows, maybe one day Bette will write another book, one about herself and how things were from her perspective and give us a glance at some never before seen pics.

    Big Hugz!
