Each tree will be planted as part of the City of New York and New York Restoration Project’s MillionTreesNYC ”“ a citywide initiative to plant and care for one million trees throughout the City’s five boroughs by 2017.
This spring NYRP staff and a corps of community volunteers are planning to plant thousands of trees on our city’s schoolyards and playgrounds, and in our community gardens and parks ”“ focusing on neighborhoods with the least amount of trees and the highest rates of adolescent asthma ”“ but we can’t do it without your generous support.
