American Cinematheque Honors Matt Damon
In a unanimous vote by the Cinematheque Board of Directors selection committee, actor Matt Damon was chosen as the recipient of their annual American Cinematheque Award. The ceremony that takes place on March 27 in Beverly Hills will be aired on ABC as a special, “Hollywood Salutes Matt Damon: An American Cinematheque Tribute”.
“Matt is the epitome of an American Cinematheque honoree in that is currently making an extraordinary contribution to the art of the motion picture,” said Rick Nicita, Chairman of the American Cinematheque. “We look forward to marking a milestone in the flourishing career of one of our greatest young stars.” Previous honorees include Eddy Murphy, Bette Midler, Jodie Foster and director Rob Reiner.
