BETTE MIDLER has no plans to write a book about her life – because she would hate to promote an autobiography.
The veteran entertainer has previously penned a children’s tale, The Saga of Baby Divine, but she has no interest in working on another book – revealing she’s turned down several offers to write about her Las Vegas shows and her work with the New York Restoration Project.
She tells Britain’s Hello! magazine, “I’ve been asked several times. Last year I had two book deals. I turned both down. I was asked to do a book on Las Vegas and a book on my 55 gardens, like a before-and-after.
“The book itself isn’t hard, it’s fun, but promoting and talking about yourself at length isn’t that easy. You have to be up for it.”
