I thought I’d share my experience with the Divine. The concert was absolutely amazing and more than I could have hoped for. That lady can make you feel ALL THE FEELS. Anyway, the concert ended Amanda the Meet & Greet peeps were taken to the room where we would meet Bette. As we lined up, the nerves really kicked in. I couldn’t believe I was about to meet the woman who has been a major inspiration in my life, not just because of the incredible talent and bravery, but also because of her kindness and caring she has for the world and those in it.
As she enters the room in a cute green caftan, everyone cheers. She thanks everyone then the Meet & Greets begin. When I get to the front, her handler asks my name. I manage to squeak out “Justin.” As he introduces me to her I walk toward her and my brain explodes. Wow, there she is, Bette Midler. I say hello and tell her it’s so nice to meet her and she gives me that beautiful smile and says “Awww, thank you.” We pose for the picture and she asks me if I had a good time. I said “absolutely and you were amazing!” She smiles again and everything I wanted to say left my brain. So sadly, I said “nice meeting you” and left.
The only sad part of the evening for me was that I was going to buy merchandise after my photo, but they had already packed up…so I got nothing. No program or t-shirt for me. So sad.
