Join us for an exclusive screening of the Tony Award-nominated Mr. Saturday Night, the hit Broadway musical filmed live on stage by BroadwayHD — this will be the first time it’s screened in a theater. After the screening, Billy Crystal, a Tony Award nominee for Best Actor in a Musical, will take the stage to discuss – with Bette Midler – what it was like to create, perform in, and capture what Variety called “the funniest show on Broadway in years!”

Mr. Saturday Night stars Billy Crystal, Tony Award nominee for Best Actor in a Musical, as Buddy Young, Jr., an outrageous and outspoken comedian who has one last shot at reclaiming the spotlight — and fixing his fractured family — one hilarious step at a time.

  1. Interesting! I had just mentioned the film they made together “PARENTAL GUIDANCE” in the recent mother’s day post. I am very “critical” of most of Bette’s films (of course as you have said she is generally much better than the film itself) because they have hardly ever lived up to her amazing unforgettable performance in her screen debut “THE ROSE.” There are two other films that were stellar enough to be comparable to that movie in my opinion. “DOWN AND OUT IN BEVERLY HILLS” is the first one…and then the second one she made years and years later which was “PARENTAL GUIDANCE.” That movie has a special place in my heart because I purchased the DVD when it was first released which was the same month and year I met my boyfriend of ten years and we watched it repeatedly (I had just moved into a new apartment and it was the only DVD I had in my new place.) Also my parents were grandparents of kids the same age range so the similarities I noticed were so compelling and touched me. Bette and Billy Crystal worked so well together…and this conversation should be very compelling!

  2. This one sounds great!

I already hate everybody who will get the chance to see it. LOL

    Xoxo

  3. I tried buying online and they said they switched to this only being available live in person and there will not be a streaming where you can buy to view online.

    Thanks,
    Jill
