Sophie von Haselberg Stars In The Charming Rom-Com, Love…Reconsidered

Decider has a first look at Love… Reconsidered, an upcoming rom-com starring Sophie Von Haselberg, plus Teen Wolf‘s Colton HaynesSummer House star Luke Gulbranson, Jill Kargman and more.

The charming trailer opens with Ruby (Von Haselberg, the daughter of the iconic Bette Midler), described in the film’s logline as a “thirty, flirty (but definitely not thriving) New Yorker” who appears to still be finding herself.

“I am a boss bitch,” she exclaims while on the phone. “I just haven’t figured out what I’m supposed to be bossing.”

After receiving comfort from Golda (Elaine Bromka), an older woman she meets in Central Park, Ruby takes her up on an offer to go run her consignment store in Southampton.

Upon arriving, Ruby learns that the store — which boasts a small cardboard sign outlined with duct tape reading “Magic Closet” — “has been empty for years.” After setting eyes on the unexpectedly tiny room that she’s renting from her new roommate John (Gulbranson), she also meets a wide cast of characters whose “entangling stories [ultimately] make up the framework of Ruby’s new life,” per the film’s synopsis.

One of them is Eden (Julia Coffey), a rather assertive individual who tells Ruby that she “will introduce [her] to everyone.”

Amid navigating her romantic life — including “attempt[ing] to make connections with an ex that wants to stay her ex” — Ruby also airs her grievances to other Hamptons residents over drinks.

Some visit the store she has been tasked with running, including Carl (Javier Muñoz), who teases her, “Oh, everybody’s in everybody’s business out here.”

As such, we see a glimpse at Carl’s personal drama when Scott (Haynes) tells him, “I wanna be my own person.”

Carl replies, “But you are! You’re my person.”
