Bette Midler arrives in Las Vegas this week to continue rehearsals for the Feb. 20 debut of “The Showgirl Must Go On” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
But first she’s going on “Oprah” on Monday to beat the drums for her return to Las Vegas as a two-year resident headliner.
Meanwhile, Tait Towers, a Pennsylvania-based lighting company, issued a recent news release announcing they have been hired by Caesars for work with the property’s three-artist rotation in 2008 “that begins with Bette Midler and includes Cher and Elton John.”

Does anyone know the number of this show? It doesn’t appear on Oprah’s site. I have to check the schedule here with the number too…yeah, I know, what a pain in the a#$*….Thanks!

What about calling the station of the local affillate that airs in your country…I don’t really know what else to do….

Actually, I meant the number of the episode…they inform that, right next to the guests, on the local affiliate site…if I could I would call Oprah to tell her to stop saying “You look good!” everytime Bette is a guest on her show and yelling Bette’s name THAT way…I REALLY though my head was going to explode…LOL! thanks for the warning…
Well, about Canada…they are requiring more and more stuff for the Visa, don’t know what is going to happen…why don’t I stay at home and end this, right? But I always insist…LOL! Can’t believe you lost my email…now I’ll have to take an extra fix of my antidepressant…LOL! Love you.

I’m doing great, as far as outlook, and was hoping to get my passport and so forth to visit. Remember, I asked you to be the witness to my wedding…we’ll get Darrell there, too. I just have to talk Barry into marrying me…that’s the hard part..:-)

Thanks again, Mr. D! I’m from the Philippines and I’m the biggest fan of Bette Midler that you will ever see in Asia! 🙂 My parents have migrated to Las Vegas a couple of years ago and I bought tickets of her Vegas show last July 2007. I will finally get to see the DIVINE ONE on Feb 24! 🙂
I have been busy since returning from Chicago…hubby and I had a blast…I sent you and email, Mr. D, just in case you thought I dropped off the face of this planet…
after I see Oprah today, I’ll get back on here…y’all listen for my hubby….I think he might have been the only person whistling LOUDLY with all the cheers and applause…but it might get drowned out….I am in a red turtleneck sweater and he’s in a blue shirt up in the back of one section…doubtful we’ll be seen, but you never know…
ONE THING I KNOW FOR SURE: since we stayed for the 2nd taping, and it was SO very somber (adult children of divorce), it made me so very thankful that I had the morning taping experience to remember…so very grateful, indeed…
ok, MORE things I know for SURE: even though it is strange that I worked so hard on my tape & then was sort of confused as to how our tapes seemed somewhat trivialized by the producers…I still see the positives here…I got invited to be in the audience(I have wanted to go to see Oprah for over 20 years) and I found BLB in the process by simply Googling “Bette + Oprah”…those TWO things I just am so thankful for! ok, sounds corny….that’s just me!
perhaps the BEST thing I now know for sure…hubby plans on us going to Vegas more than once to see Bette and we WILL attend her very last show…he really sees us doing that, like I do…he said he’ll make it happen….because now he knows that when I set my mind on something, when I believe in myself, when I truly want something, I can make it happen…that’s what happened over the last month and a half…he’s now experienced this with me…and THAT is going to stick with us for the rest of our lives…perhaps, this last thing means more to me than all the others…because it’s opened my eyes to something greater inside of me and certainly given my husband a view into how I can put my heart and soul into what I am passionate about…I am going to transfer all this to other areas of my life…that is the most exciting thing…
oh! **congrats to Luzanne for getting those tickets, too…my only regret is that I did not get to speak to her personally…I wanted to give her a hug, so I hope she sees this…I hope we get to hear more about her on the show…I hope the producers highlight her story!!! *hugs*
