“Sex and the City” (London)
Well, it’s hardly as bold and daring as the show _ the sexiest things on it are Imani Coppola playing coy and the Dust Brothers remaking the Andrea True Connection. But this is no mainstream slouch, either.
And it’s brimming with exclusives: a new Joan Osborne tune, Groove Armada having sly fun with the show’s spicy theme, Bette Midler outshining herself with a remake of Teddy Pendergrass‘ “Love TKO.”
It’s also got one star who can do no wrong right now (Aimee Mann) and one who I’m a sucker for (Tom Jones). And any soundtrack that turns me on to a new song I can’t stop playing. In this case, Elan Atias‘ dancehall doo-wop redo of Gregory Isaacs’ “Dreams Come True.” Well, that at least gets to third base with little struggle.
