Showing their heartfelt, um, support for Take-a-Hike, a charity that funds breast cancer research, guests trekked to Smashbox Studios in L.A. for a celebrity-designed Bra Art auction sponsored by Frederick’ s of Hollywood and hosted by the organization’s chairwoman, Tea Leoni. “I get asked to decorate plates and vases for charities, so I thought, Hey, why don’t we get people to do bras?” said Leoni, who then phoned 50 luminaries, including Bette Midler and Dustin Hoffman. “I don’t want my children to be touched by this disease–and that goal is very attain-able,” she added. By evening’s end, $40,000 had been raised from the flashy lingerie that was put up for bid at the event (as well as online at sothebys.com) and quickly … snapped up. —
