Larry Magid, who cofounded Electric Factory Concerts, is on the road withBette Midler, producing her national tour for Clear Channel. First concert is Wednesday in Chicago. Mister M and the Divine Miss M go way, way back.
In December 1972, Magid and partners booked her into Center City’s long-gone Bijou Cafe for her first major performance outside of New York, with a pianist/musical director named Barry Manilow.
In his other life, Magid and business partner Allen Spivak are associate-producing the Broadway revival of Wonderful Town, and have a hand in the off-Broadway show Fame on 42nd Street.
